Series of 3 Friday afternoon Supervised Practice sessions :  ‘Running Groups’

Join a small group of max 5 people with a focus on setting up and running psychodrama groups in your work or in the community.  Enrolment is for all 3 supervised practice sessions.

Vision

Psychodrama is a creative therapeutic method ideally run in groups.  We want to encourage experienced trainees to set up and run groups and receive supervision for their practice.

In the Psychodrama Association our vision is that, as a result of our work, people everywhere will have a responsive and creative expression that brings joy to the human spirt, uplifts the soul and makes everyone feel part of the universe again.

Purpose

You will apply your Psychodrama, sociodrama, role training or sociometric abilities to set up and run groups in the community or at work.

The groups can be personal development, group therapy, education, community development, working with creative expression, exploring relevant personal, social, cultural or environmental issues.

You can work with whatever age group appeals – the applications are endless!

Structure

  • Create a focus and target audience, and a structure for a group you want to run
  • Find potential participants and have them enrol
  • Make a plan for your group sessions
  • Run your group for 6 weeks (you may invite a peer to attend as a trained auxiliary, but this group is not co-led)
  • Receive peer support and supervision for your work in the group over three Friday sessions

Who can attend?

Anyone who wants to run a group using Psychodramatic action methods and receive peer support and trainer supervision for their practice.

If you are new to psychodrama, have not trained with us before or are returning after a long break from training, please contact us for a training conversation prior to enrolling for this workshop to ensure you have the psychodrama experience needed to enter a training programme and this workshop is a good match for you.  (See our enrolment policy)
